On October 31^st, with the support of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Gansu Province and Lanzhou University (LZU), Mr. Sinisa Berjan, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to China, and Prof. Dejan Bokonjić, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of East Sarajevo of Bosnia and Herzegovina, came to the First Hospital of Lanzhou University (LZUFH) for a visit and exchange, accompanied by Mr. Wang Chunzhen, Director of Comprehensive Department of Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Gansu Province. Prof. Hou Xiaoming, Vice President of LZUFH, the head of Department of Pediatrics and key physicians attended the discussion and exchange. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Liu Yatao, Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of LZUFH.

At the symposium, Prof. Hou warmly welcomed the visit of Mr. Sinisa Berjan and Prof. Dejan Bokonjić, and introduced to them the development history, personnel cultivation and international cooperation of LZUFH. He said that the hospital has always attached great importance to international cooperation and exchange, and actively sought opportunities for cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries along the Silk Road and hoped to lay a solid foundation for the future cooperation between the two sides through this exchange.

Mr. Sinisa Berjan expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of LZUFH and said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has established friendly relations with Gansu Province, and will actively promote the cooperation between LZUFH and universities and famous hospitals in Bosnia and Herzegovina for student exchanges, teachers’ visits, academic research and cultural exchanges, so as to contribute positively to medical and humanistic exchanges between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prof. Dejan Bokonjić also expressed his hope to sign a cooperation agreement with LZUFH in the near future, opening a new chapter of international exchange and cooperation between the two sides.

After the discussion, Mr. Sinisa Berjan and his delegation visited the hospital’s history museum, pediatric PICU, NICU and children’s bronchoscopy room.
