The First International Advanced Doctor in Thoracic Surgery of LZUFH Graduates Successfully

On November 8, Dr. Gianluca Ancon from Italy, the first international advanced trainee doctor in thoracic surgery of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University (LZUFH) and in Gansu Province, successfully completed the 3-month training, which marks the further enhancement of the influence of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of LZUFH in the domestic and international medical circles, and also highlights its attractiveness and influence in the international medical field.
Prof. Hou Xiaoming, Vice President of LZUFH, and Dr. Liu Yatao, Director of Foreign Affairs Office, presented the certificate of completion of training to Dr. Gianluca Ancona. Prof. Hou Xiaoming expressed congratulation to him and said that the hospital will continue to strengthen the exchange and cooperation with the international medical community, continuously improve its own technology and academic influence, and provide patients with higher quality medical services, as well as cultivate more excellent medical talents for the international field of thoracic surgery.
Dr. Gianluca Ancona came to the Department of Thoracic Surgery with his own Chinese name: Guangming. During the training period, he worked with colleagues and students in Thoracic Surgery Department, learning surgical techniques and teaching in the wards, exchanging cutting-edge technologies, participating in the construction of quality control in county hospitals of Gansu Provincial Thoracic Surgery Medical Quality Control Center, etc. He performs well in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, and also brings new clinical experience and technical perspectives for the technological innovation and development of the department.
The Department of Thoracic Surgery of LZUFH is a Grade A key discipline in Gansu Province, as well as the Gansu Medical Quality Control Center for Thoracic Surgery, the Gansu International Cooperation Base for R&D and Application of Key Thoracic Surgical Techniques and the training base for the International Single Port Thoracoscopy Training Program. The department has maintained close cooperation with international counterparts for many years, and regularly organizes international academic lectures, surgical demonstrations and training. At present, having trained nearly 100 international trainees from more than 20 countries, it has emerged as a crucial training platform in the field of international thoracic surgery.
