On January 18, a symposium on Internationalization Conference at the First Hospital of Lanzhou University (LZUFH) was successfully held. This meeting conveyed and interpreted the guiding principles of the Lanzhou University International Cooperation and Exchange Work Conference on January 5 and 6, having a thematic discussion on promoting higher-quality international cooperation and exchange.

Prof. Meng Wenbo, Vice President of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Mr. Gao Hongzhen, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Lanzhou University, and Mr. Jia Lanmin, China Representative of Wilkris, attended the meeting. More than 200 people participated in the meeting.

Prof. Meng Wenbo said that internationalization is an important indicator of “Top Universities” construction of Lanzhou University, and it is also an inevitable requirement for the high-quality and connotative development of Lanzhou University and LAUFH. LZUFH will earnestly study and implement the spirit and requirements of the Lanzhou University International Cooperation and Exchange Work Conference, accelerate the overall improvement of the international cooperation and exchange level of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University and the First School of Clinical Medicine, and contribute to the “Top Universities” construction of Lanzhou University.

Mr. Gao Hongzhen interpreted the Internationalization Work Report in detail. He also showed that internationalization is the common core feature of top universities. So Lanzhou University will continue to improve the internationalization system and mechanism, creating a new situation in international cooperation and exchange at Lanzhou University.

During the discussion, the representatives of teachers and students put forward a large number of constructive advice and suggestions on the internationalization of teachers and the four-in-one model (integration of medical treatment, nursing, scientific research, and administrative management), the internationalization of talent training, the internationalization of disciplines, the international scientific research cooperation, and the supporting capacity of internationalization. Moreover, guided by the spirit of the Lanzhou University International Cooperation and Exchange Work Conference, all of them will identify problems and improve weak links, to accelerate the ability and level of internationalization of the university and the hospital.
