On August 19th, 2023, Belt and Road Countries·China Refined Hospital Management and High-Quality Development International Academic Conference was held by the First Hospital of Lanzhou University (LZUFH). On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, renowned experts and scholars at home and abroad were invited to this conference in Lanzhou so as to further improve the efficiency of global public governance and jointly build “a global community of health for all”. Meanwhile, it helps to consolidate the cooperation in medical treatment and public health between western China, including Gansu Province, and countries along Belt and Road, promoting the high-quality development of the “Healthy Gansu Initiative”.

    Twelve experts from Germany, Japan, Belarus, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and other experts from countries along the Belt and Road were invited to this conference. They have conducted profound and fruitful exchanges with specialists from domestic hospitals and all the experts shared their opinions on hot topics like refined management and high-quality development of modern hospitals, standardized medical management, the reform practice of DRGs/DIP medical insurance payment. At the same time, the “Sub-forum on New Techniques of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery and the Training Course by the APHS” was held.

    At the opening ceremony, Prof. Li Xun, President of the conference and LZUFH, extended a cordial welcome to experts and fellows at home and abroad who had come from afar. In recent years, as he noted, LZUFH has established long-term cooperation with internationally well-known universities and medical institutions in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Britain, Japan and other countries, as well as a stable communication mechanism with domestic first-class hospitals like Tongji Hospital and Union Hospital.

    By giving full play to its resources and advantages in medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, talents, science and technology, and other fields, LZUFH has carried out mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation and communication with countries along Belt and Road , formed a long-term and stable friendship, and thus drawn a new blueprint for jointly building a community of common health for all with the alongside countries.

    At last, the conference was crowned with a complete success.
