On March 10, the Emergency Intensive Care Unit (EICU) of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University (LZUFH) held its first academic meeting of “DCGM Emergency and Critical Medicine Innovation Center” in 2023. Michael Nerlich, President of DCGM (Deutsch-Chinesischen Gesellschaft für Medizin). Christian Waydhas, Professor of University Hospital Essen, Fabian Dusse, Professor of Cologne University Hospital, Liu Yatao, Director of International Cooperation and Communication Office, Liu Liping, Director of EICU and all EICU medical staffs attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Professor Christian Waydhas shared the latest international research progress on the management of delirium in ICU patients with the topic “Delirium-Prevention, Recognition, and Treatment”. Doctors and nurses fom EICU cmmunicated with German experts in terms of antiviral treatment for patients with COVID-19 infection, application of anti-infective drugs after co-infection, skin care and pressure sore treatment for severe patients.

The successful holding of this meeting will further enhance the exchange and cooperation between the two sides, and constantly improve the treatment capability of EICU through continuous learning and improvement of advanced medical technology and management mode.
