Recently, in order to praise the individuals and collectives who have made outstanding contributions in the field of charity in Gansu Province, carry forward their charitable deeds of advocating morality and goodness, and give play to the exemplary and leading role of advanced models, the Department of Civil Affairs of Gansu Province circulated a notice of praise to 6 individuals and 9 collectives. Zhao Da, vice president of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, was awarded as “individuals who has made outstanding contributions in Philanthropy in Gansu province”.

   Zhao Da has solid professional and technical theoretical knowledge and practical experience. During the period of supervising the group medical assistance work of Linxia County People’s Hospital and Xiahe County People’s Hospital, he presided  over the "Smile Action" activity, contacted the China Charity Federation for free surgical treatment for children with cleft lip and palate, treated about 150 children throughout the year, and this charity work continues to this day.

    Zhao Da is also a registered charity doctor of eight anticancer drugs and has been commended by the China Charity Federation twice. He responded to the hospital’s medical and health poverty alleviation project, provided help for cancer patients, reviewed and distributed cancer assistance drugs to more than 100 poor patients in Gansu province, equivalent to nearly 10 million yuan, reduced the economic burden of patients from poor families, helped patients improve their quality of life and effectively prolong their lives, which was fully affirmed by the patients’ families and all sectors of society.

    The “Internet + Artificial Intelligence” Medical Aid Poverty Alleviation Project led by Zhao Da not only improves medical efficiency and ensures the quality of medical treatment, but also allows patients to enjoy cost-effective medical services, so that the interests of patients are implemented. He also raised 50,000 yuan for hemophilia patients in the “Easy Public Welfare Major Disease Relief Hemophilia Project”.

    The First Hospital of Lanzhou University has long been concerned about the health of the rural poor. Since 2018, Zhao Da has organized medical staff to set up a medical charity volunteer service team, and repeatedly organized medical staff to go deep into remote and poor rural areas to carry out free clinics, free physical examinations and other activities for the poor. In the key stage of the poverty alleviation, Zhao Da took the initiative to contact the Gansu Charity Association to prepare a “1 Million Yuan Charity Medical Aid fund” project to implement the “Internet +” Medical Aid Poverty Alleviation Project.

    Over the years, Zhao Da has continuously participated in and led all kinds of charity activities after work, anxious for the urgent needs of the masses, solved the difficulties of people, closely contacted them, and interpreted the vanguard and exemplary role of the Communists for the benefit of the people.
