According to the actual situation of Covid-19 prevention and control in Lanzhou, in order to give better play to the role of youth volunteer service, we should coordinate the youth volunteer force. After receiving the call of the Youth League Municipal Committee and Lanzhou University, the First Clinical Medical College convened volunteers overnight.

    Soon, the participation messages full of positive energy of youth came one after another. In less than an hour, 1500 medical students of the First Clinical Medical College responded to the call and applied voluntarily. At the moment, their identities are no longer doctoral students, master’s students and medical undergraduates, but have a common name -Youth volunteers! They expressed the medical students’ determination and confidence in winning the battle with practical actions! It shows the responsibility and mission of medical youth in the new era.

    Before departure, professional medical workers from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University trained all volunteers on epidemic prevention knowledge to ensure the smooth development of voluntary activities. At 8 a.m. on October 22, the first group of student volunteers rushed to the community according to the instructions. Under the leadership of the community staff, the students dressed in the volunteer red vest of the First Hospital and the First Clinical Medical College of Lanzhou University went to different communities to assist in the anti-epidemic work. Volunteers check the health code and trip code of community residents door to door, ask whether nucleic acid has been done, and assist in collecting citizen information for reporting.

    At the same time, the second batch of student volunteers went to the outpatient nucleic acid collection point and pre-inspection and triage office of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University to give full play to the professional expertise of medical students, guide the patient to queue up orderly and wear masks, stand “one meter line” and maintain a safe distance for prevention and control.

    At present, two groups of student volunteers of the First Clinical Medical College of Lanzhou University have fought the epidemic situation, participated in the epidemic prevention and control of multiple communities in Lanzhou, and assisted the guidance, pre-inspection and triage of class III hospitals. Other young volunteers learn independently, strengthen the knowledge of epidemic prevention and control, and stand by at any time.

    The majority of medical students in the First Clinical Medical College of Lanzhou University interpret the spirit of volunteerism with action and love, actively give play to the enthusiasm of medical youth in the new era, and contribute their youth to resolutely win the war of epidemic prevention and control!
