LZUFH and CHUV hold ERAS implementation signing ceremony

    On July 7, 2021, the First Hospital of Lanzhou University (LZUFH) and University Hospital Lausanne (CHUV) in Switzerland signed China's first ERAS Training and Implementation Program  Agreement online.


      Over the yeas, LZUFH has been devoted to accelerating the implementation, research and training of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and first put forward the idea of Enhanced Recovery After Diseases (ERAD), achieving significant effect in the safety and quality improvement of patients diagnosis and treatment. In August 2020, the hospital became the first Affiliated Hospitals ERAS® Society members in China. As the 9th Top World’s Best Hospitals, CHUV is the ERAS® accredited unit and provide teaching and training services relating to the ERAS® technique.


      Based on the foundation of collaboration and previous work,the Agreement was signed by Dean Li Xun of LZUFH and Professor Nicolas Demartines, Chair of Surgery Department of Lausanne University and Chairman of the Implementation ERAS® Society. After the signing ceremony, both parties conducted in-depth discussion on the implementation of standardized technical training and promotion of ERAS implementation.


      By signing the Agreement, LZUFH has become the first one in China to jointly develop the ERAS implementation and training online evaluation system with the ERAS® Society. Relying on this platform, the hospital will successively carry out international standardized ERAS practice, training, research and promotion in multiple disciplines such as hepato-biliary and pancreatic surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, anesthesiology as well as nursing. At the same time, the two parties have developed the Chinese version of ERAS Outcome Audit System. By then LZUFH can participate in the multi-center research of the ERAS® Society and take the lead in conducting high-quality research work in the region.
