As stressors mount during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayo clinic suggested staff finding time to take care of themselves. More and more, people are finding themselves stretched thin as they try to meet the many demands and changes life is asking of them during the COVID-19 pandemic. When you find yourself pulled in many different directions, it can help to take some time for yourself.

Try these tips to take better care of yourself during this difficult time:

•Start small. Begin with a small step and make a conscious effort to do something for yourself. Take an extra 10 minutes to enjoy a meal or get up to stretch. Whatever it is, you'll be glad you did it.

•Practice. It takes practice and intention to create a positive change. Set the tone for what you want your life to look like and put it into action. Use your paid time off, take a walk, try something new.

•Let go of the guilt. Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. When you take care of yourself, it helps you be your best in the areas of life that are most important to you.

•Go with the flow. Life is constantly changing, and each day brings something new. It may look different from one day to the next, but honor this season of your life and embrace opportunities to make time for you.

•Put it on the calendar. Start by making a list of things that you like to do and try to do something from that list every day. Make sure to put those things on your calendar and set reminders to take care of yourself.

•Make the time. It can be tempting to use any extra free time to catch up on household chores or answer a few more emails. Instead, take a few deep breaths, listen to your body and give yourself a break to recharge your battery. It may be just what you need to re-energize and tackle those tasks at a later time.
