On August 19, 2020, with the purpose of further promoting the development of Day Surgery Unit of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University(LZUFH), a well-known European specialist in Fast Track Surgery, winner of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, Mr. Torben Steen Mogensen, shared his working experience in the field of ambulatory surgery and provided many instructional suggestions in many respects via video meeting.

    Lv Xinghua, Director of the Day Surgery Unit, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Professor Torben for his substantial and valuable assistance to the construction of the Unit. Wang Hao, an anesthetist from the Department of Anesthesiology, made a report on the work progress of day surgery unit.

    The preliminary work of the Unit in our hospital was highly commended by Professor Torben. During discussion, he shared his opinions and exchanged ideas with medical staff on the key issues such as workflow, anesthesia method and critical pathway about daily surgeries.

    With specific guidance and strong support of Professor Torben and other excellent experts, we have made some improvement that would benefits a large number of patients, and we will continue to make unremitting efforts to do better in the future!
