As of July 21st, Professor Yang Yongxiu from the Department of Gynecology, the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, led his team to use “the da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System” for minimally invasive gynecological surgery. The success of the operation marked the arrival of the “robot era” in the Department of Gynecology of our hospital as scheduled.

    The da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System is the most advanced platform for minimally invasive surgery(MIS) at present. It can provide more accurate, safer, less traumatic, and faster recovery surgical treatments. It has more advantages than endoscopy in limited and narrow spaces.

    The Department of Gynecology of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University will further expand the application of surgical robotics in the field of gynecological tumors, implement the concept of minimally invasive and practice precise treatment, making more contributions to the minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries in Gansu Province and benefiting more patients.
