Making progress wherever I am

Thanks to Lanzhou University and the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, I had the opportunity to study at Akita University Affiliated Hospital. My study tasks were mainly divided into two parts, hepatology and pathology.

During my visit, I have noticed that there are several differences between Akita and our hospital. The first one is work mode. In our hospital, clinical doctors are mainly in charge of the diagnosis and treatment of patients and medical technologists are responsible for the lab and image results, whereas clinical doctors in Japan are also responsible for ultrasound diagnosis and intervention procedure sometimes. Secondly, the autopsy ratio in Japan is much higher than that of in our country. Thirdly, the medical insurance policy is different. Besides, doctors in Japan need to work at more than one hospitals in the same period.

I have also learnt a lot during my study. I tried my best to strengthen the ability of image reading because I have great enthusiasm in liver pathology. It was lucky for me to involve in the non-malignant liver diseases pathology diagnosis, especially in the unknown liver dysfunction etiology tracing of patients who obtained liver transplantation. So I owed a debt of gratitude to doctors at the Department of Pathology, who helped to improve my diagnosis capacity in this field.

I am honored to be a doctor for it is such a pragmatic job with a sense of responsibility, and I would make great efforts to learn and improve myself in future.
