date:2020/5/8 12:00:34 hot:1552

Esophageal cancer surgery, also known as four-level surgery, is a difficult and high-risk surgery in thoracic surgery. Accompanied by the thoracic surgeons and nurses of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, 44-year old Mr. Huang, with mid-thoracic esophageal carcinoma, walked back to the ward after surgery.

On May 7th, after scientific judgement and thorough surgical planning, the Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital successfully completed the radical resection of thoracic laparoscopic esophageal cancer and cervical digestive tract (esophagus−stomach) reconstruction. The operation lasted 3.5 hours. Supported by MDT and ERAS technologies, the operation achieved the unification of the “two extremes”, namely high difficulty and risk in operation and good postoperative recovery after surgery.

At present, it is quite rare in China that such operations have achieved similar effects, which also marks that the hospital’s multidisciplinary team in combination with ERAS technology have reached first-class inside the country.
