From September 5th to 7th, 2019, at the invitation of Dean Li Xun, professor ULA ALI MOHAMED NUR, the high-end expert of the Overseas Expertise Introduction Project for Discipline Innovation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the medical statistician in UK, came to the hospital for academic exchanges and work.

      During the work, based on the research work of “the establishment of the prevention and control mode of major and high-risk diseases and the early diagnosis and treatment system in northwest China”-a high-end foreign expert project of the Foreign Experts Bureau of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor Ula, Dean Li Xun and the hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease treatment and research team conducted detailed discussions, such as ESBD multi-center clinical research, ERCP clinical research, etc., and provided suggestions on the deep analysis of research data.

      At the same time, combined with many clinical cases, the professor gave an academic lecture to the key personnel in various departments of our hospital on the clinical research design, data processing, statistical analysis and evidence-based medical research. After the lecture, the medical staff discussed and exchanged ideas with professors Ula on the choice of statistical methods, special data processing, layered design, and confusion and problems in their own research. At Xinglin Building of the Medical School, Lanzhou University, Professor Ula also gave an academic lecture and conducted case analysis to all doctors and masters on the application of statistics in medical research and how to conduct high-quality research and discover scientific problems based on different research backgrounds and purposes.
